Ormond Beach Historical Society is pleased to announce that we are again participating in Volusia Country’s ECHO Ranger program. Designed for children aged 5-12 years old, the program introduces young people and their parents to the Ecological, Cultural, Heritage, and Outdoor opportunities in our county.
This year OBHS will be conduct our program on Saturdays, October 29, 2011; January 28, 2012 and March 31, 2012 from 1:45PM to 3PM. The Casements and the Ormond Art Museum will present their ECHO Ranger programs during the morning on the same dates.
The OBHS program features interactive programming at the Anderson-Price Memorial Building and will include tours of artifacts on display there, a historical film, and information on the historical significance of the Pilgrim’s Rest Primitive Baptist Church in Bailey’s Riverbridge Gardens, the Ormond Yacht Club and Union Church. The program will conclude with the children participating in an educational project.
In addition to our program there are a wide variety of ECHO Rangers programs at parks, museums, historical sites and libraries throughout Volusia County. Activities are scheduled on weekends from September through May and last one to three hours.
