Historic New Bethel AME Church

On Sunday, May 22, to celebrate Preservation Month 2022, our Community Preservation Award honored the work of Pastor Floyd Narcisse and the congregation of the Historic New Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church on S. Yonge Street. The church, completed in 1927, has been an outstanding example for over 95 years of People Saving Places. The congregation was originally organized in 1885 in a building across the street and moved to the present building, which was built by the congregation and lovingly cared for until today.
